Lunar New Year Celebrations in Canada

Canada representing one of the most ethnically diverse country in the world, the Lunar New Year is celebrated from the West to East coast, all over Canada in various cities such as:

Toronto, Ontario Chinese New Year Celebrations

The Metro Toronto Convention Center features several shows by the Divine Performing Arts. The city that has around five Chinatowns celebrates in their own way that includes traditional Lion and Dragon dance. While, you are in the city during the festival, you can also walk around the city or plan for bicycle tours around the Chinatown region of the city.

Ottawa, Ontario Chinese New Year Celebrations

Grand celebrations marking the festival are also held at the city hosted by Divine Performing Arts. Generally, celebrations relating to the myths and legends of the Classical Chinese dance and music are featured here. The Ottawa National Arts Centre also hosts shows focusing on the Chinese New Year celebrations. The performance by the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra is also a major highlight of the festivity.

Calgary, Alberta Chinese New Year Celebrations

The city of Calgary features a three-day celebration organized by the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre. The show ends with a grand performance of the traditional lion and dragon dance.



Montreal, Quebec Chinese New Year Celebrations

Performances of Chinese folk songs and dances marks the festivity of Chinese New Year in Montreal along with other events like, parades and food festivals.


Vancouver, British Columbia Chinese New Year Celebrations

The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden hosts a range of celebrations. Parades are the major highlight of the festival.
